I'm Marybeth! As an east coast native with a free spirit, I have traveled around the world and landed in the Lake Tahoe area. I currently teach in Truckee, Kings Beach, Tahoe City, and Homewood. As well as manage the Mountainside Yoga Studio. At age 17, I was influenced by my grandmother (Nana) to start practicing yoga. I was in love with the practice after taking my first class back in 2007. I enjoyed the mental and physical challenge, the connection I felt to myself, and the blissed out feeling that I awoke with after the class. Since then, I have practiced and taught friends for fun. In 2013, I decided to make my teaching official. I enrolled in a 200 hr program with Africa Yoga Project, based out of Kenya. The month long teacher training intensive consisted of me fundraising $4,000 in 5 weeks for the non-profit, selfless service projects, such as building schools in Kibera, teaching yoga at orphanages, as well as hours packed of studying anatomy and the teachings of yoga. After I came back from Africa my thirst for more education increased. I enrolled in another 200 hr yoga teacher training in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at Evolution Power Yoga under teacher Sarah Yukie Gringrich. That same year I moved to Australia. I taught and managed KX yoga studio while living abroad. I made my way to Indonesia and taught there as well. After traveling some more, I decided to settle in the Lake Tahoe area. In 2016, I added a Yin Teacher Training under my belt. Tahoe is where I continue self study of anatomy, body movement, therapeutics, and even a bit of massage.
